After spending most of this last year in loungewear, coming out of lockdown I think you should swap your joggers for some slightly tailored chic chino’s. A casual tailored item that’s perfect for spring summer and that stands the test of fashion time! Find the right pair for you and wear on repeat.
Style as you would your jeans. Wear with your t-shirts, shirts and blouses. Smarten up with a blazer and dress down with a sweatshirt. They go especially great with sandals and flats. But I also really like them with trainers as a dressed down look and wedges for a summer dressed up look.
Classic colour is stone/ ecru but khaki is also a really good base colour to mix and match with your wardrobe. Wanting something a little different then opt for one of the fabulous pinks.
Stylist top tips –
- Choosing a style with stretch will add comfort
- High rise is best for flattening the tummy area
- Check the length as you want them to sit above your ankles so there is a gap between the bottom of your trousers and your footwear. Rolling them up is a great way to get this look .
- As a neutral the classic stone colour would be harder working with your existing wardrobe.
Here’s my edit of the best on the high street
The Perfect chino edit
Here are my favourites avaliable on the high street currently. As always there are loads of options out there but this is an edit of my favourite from brands I trust and which have available stock on at the time of publishing the blog.
Note – The Mint velvet styles come in 3 leg lengths
Note – The M&S styles come in 3 leg lengths
Which is your favourite?
Mine has to be the M&S ankle grazer chino, being only 5ft 1 myself, being able to order a petite is a real plus!
